Paul Stone - Owner/Manager/Instructor/Whale Guide
Originally from North Carolina, Paul has been in the dive industry for over 12 years. His diving career has taken him through a variety of destinations spending extensive time working in Truk Lagoon, Palau, French Polynesia, Belize, Cayman and Indonesia to name but a few. The entire time he has been looking for the perfect place to call home. Vava'u is that place.
Paul is also an Instructor Trainer for TDI, and an instructor for a variety of other agencies, such as NAUI, IANTD, and SSI. Even after over 5,000 dives and twelve years of the business, Paul still loves the underwater world with a passion for underwater photography and videography.
Karen Varndell - Owner/Manager/Instructor/Whale Guide
Karen hails from England, and has been in the dive industry for over 8 years. Like Paul, Karen has worked extensively through the Pacific, including Palau, French Polynesia and Philippines. Karen has been making underwater videos and photos throughout all of her experiences.
Karen is PADI Specialty Instructor and SDI Instructor and has written a digital photography course to fit in with the age of advancing technology.
Karen also worked as a whale watch guide with the North Atlantic Humpback Whales in the Silverbanks off Dominican Republic, before continuing to Norway where she was involved in Studying and photographing the Sperm Whale (and, yes, diving in the cold).
Both Paul and Karen strive very hard to involve people within the environment that surrounds them but at the same time fulfilling the enjoyment that every vacation deserves.
